The Sumo DTS 3m Direct Drill is a versatile crop establishment machine designed to combine targeted soil loosening, seed placement and consolidation in a single pass.

Unlike a conventional direct disc drill, the DTS uses deep-working cultivation legs positioned directly in front of the seed rows. These loosen a narrow strip of soil to a maximum depth of 250mm, helping relieve localised compaction and create conditions for strong root development without cultivating the entire field.

The 3m machine uses nine drilling rows at 333mm spacing, placing seed across a 120mm-wide band. This strip-till approach leaves much of the soil surface and existing crop residue undisturbed while creating a cultivated zone exactly where the following crop requires it.

An integrated consolidation system provides good soil-to-seed contact behind the coulters, while the 1,900-litre hopper provides useful capacity for a compact mounted machine. Hydraulic depth adjustment allows the cultivation and drilling system to be adapted to different soil conditions.

The Sumo DTS is particularly well suited to direct drilling into stubbles, strip-till crop establishment, drilling following cover crops, minimum-tillage systems and fields where localised compaction needs to be addressed during drilling.
